As a Hertfordshire wedding photographer, I have always wanted to photograph a winter wedding at Fanhams Hall, a spectacular venue with both traditional and modern rooms to celebrate your wedding.
Luckily Katie and Rob went down the more traditional route on their big day with beautiful red rose bouquets and table settings that really reflected the festive season at this beautiful venue.
I arrived to find Katie very calm and collected as she got ready in the hotel rooms, slipping into her very perfect vintage bridal gown, we had a brief moment to take some photographs in the ornate windows of her rooms and then it was on the service was Rob was waiting to say’I Do’!
In a break with tradition, the guests threw confetti inside the reception room and made their way downstairs, across the beautiful chequered parquet floors that always remind me of ‘Alice in Wonderland” towards the champagne reception.
No signs of rain or snow so we headed outside for group photos and the very important couples portraits, making sure to have my wide angle lens ready, we shot images in the gardens and beautiful forest of the the hotel grounds.
The wedding breakfast was served in the beautiful Tudor hall complete with candles and low lighting and as the band arrived, dancing commenced with celebrations going on throughout the night, I had an amazing time and was the perfect start to christmas for me….
