As a wedding and events photographer, I have shot many times at Fitzrovia Chapel in central London, it really is a dream location to get married in. Taking their vowels in May of this year were Karen and John and the beautiful setting of the Chapel made this a truly memorable ceremony for them both. In the past few years, mini or micro weddings have been a very popular option for couples who want a wedding photographer to cover the key moments of their wedding day only, and as I was only shooting for a few hours, I made sure I photographed everything!

Fitzrovia Chapel almost feels like a very well kept secret as you walk in, found in Pearson Square and surrounded by fantastic bars and restaurants, once the site of London Middlesex Hospital, an oasis of tranquility and all you need for an intimate yet elegant wedding. I always feel extremely honoured as a wedding photographer to be able to walk in with my camera and focus on the most beautiful interiors in my photos.

How is the light in Fitzrovia Chapel?

As most good wedding photographers will tell you, using the ambient light is always the best option when it comes to capturing wedding photography, you tend to always get the best results. Fitzrovia Chapel was a challenge in this area on the day because the most romantic wedding venues tend to be very dim-lit and here was no exception. I always use the best possible settings on my Canon camera and pay special attention to my ISO in this situation, always focusing on keeping my hand steady and avoiding camera shake.

The wedding reception

After a rather beautiful service, we headed to Little House Mayfair in central London. I was previously the events photographer for Soho House for nearly four years, so it was a dream to be back at the best member’s club in the world IMO! What a beautiful, elegant venue it was, the centrepiece is a magnificent cocktail bar where bartenders make the most perfect cocktails and aperitifs! A piano player and beautiful three course menu awaited the guests as they arrived. Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, Little House is a sister club to Soho House and Shoreditch House in London. There are also houses all over the world with the most recent opening in Paris.
